How We Got Started
- Toby Deal started in the log home business in 1986 as a single male looking for a cozy and efficient home. After acquiring a lot outside of Martinsville, Virginia; he considered several home choices but chose a cedar log home package from Cedardale Log Homes of Greensboro, N. C.
- During the building process, Toby had many problems due to a Dealer for Cedardale that had very little experience. This company then asked Toby if he would become a dealer for them and he accepted.
- He was not completely satisfied with Cedardale, so after much research, getting married to a wonderful woman, and having 4 wonderful daughters; he decided to become an authorized dealer for Honest Abe Log Homes beginning in 1998.
- Because of the excellent quality and service, he has remained with this company until the present. Toby has built and lived in 4 different model homes (3 from Honest Abe), and is extremely happy with their quality, price, and service.
Where We Are Headed
- Toby's daughter, Jenna and son-in-law, Christian decided to build a home for their growing family. During the decision making process, they weighed the pros and cons of a log home and were excited to make the commitment to build a log home. They also decided to learn the knowledge Toby had acquired and join him in becoming partners in Sky Scape Cabins LLC.
What We Offer
- Honest Abe Log Homes manufactures pre-cut, kiln-dried, white pine packages and offer many styles and sizes of logs. They are one of the largest log home companies in America and have been in business since the late 70s. We are a factory direct distributor for them in south-central Virginia and north-central North Carolina.
NOTE: A few companies still do not kiln-dry their logs and cut costs by not doing so. Stay away from these companies even if they are a bit cheaper than ones who kiln-dry.
